Vacancy
A council member, similar to many nonprofit board members, will help provide direction, expertise, and support to Wy’East RC&D, allowing us to carry out our mission.
Ideal candidates are innovation-focused, excited about rural energy conservation and advancement, and passionate supporters of rural life. Wy'East RC&D is seeking at least three members who bring diverse lived experiences, backgrounds, and beliefs to the table. Allowing us to collectively draw on a rich history of expertise to help lead Wy'East RC&D in its work serving rural communities across the PNW.
Wy’East RC&D holds council meetings once per quarter. These meetings are typically held virtually via Zoom. Meetings are typically two hours or less. Preferably, council members would live in the PNW and have a connection to and interest in energy, resiliency, agriculture, and/or electric vehicles (EVs).
Wy’East RC&D, similar to countless other non-profits right now, is currently dealing with some uncertainty about what the future looks like for our organization. Many of our popular programs are reaching the end of their funding contracts. Also, we have dealt with some staff turnover, as well as the shutdown of the Resource Assistance for Rural Environments (RARE) AmeriCorps program, and these changes have led to staffing capacity issues. Wy’East is looking to pursue new funding and project opportunities in the energy and conservation sectors to assist rural individuals and businesses across the PNW.
