Wy’East Resource Conservation and Development Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has served rural residents and businesses for over 30 years. We provide outreach and education, help navigating and combining project funding sources, and on-the-ground technical assistance to rural communities across Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. Our goal is to accelerate the demand for energy efficiency and innovative renewable energy projects.

Wy’East was founded in 1994 as a locally led rural development organization serving Deschutes, Jefferson, Crook, Hood River, Wasco, and Sherman counties. These communities are where we started and where our relationships run the deepest. Knowing these places and the people who live and work there still shapes and informs the way we work everywhere else.

Over time, our technical assistance has grown to reach not only agricultural producers but rural small businesses, residents, and communities throughout Oregon and neighboring Pacific Northwest states. Our work has been made possible through funding and close partnerships with local foundations, federal and state agencies, regional electric utilities, and other nonprofit organizations.
