How a Washington Non-Profit Utilized the E-Farms Program to Support South King and Pierce County

Living Well Kent describes itself as “a community-driven organization dedicated to creating public spaces, programs, and initiatives that inspire healthier lifestyles and better living for all residents of King County”.

Living Well Kent operates a Food Hub and distributes produce grown in its greenhouse and on two small farms managed by 26 local farmers. The E-Farms program, in partnership with Puget Sound Energy, has loaned the Food Hub a Ford F-150 Lightning and a Polaris Kinetic Side-by-Side to support their work and help them transport produce from the field to the community.

Wy’East RC&D supported the E-Farms program and assisted in providing Living Well Kent’s use of electric vehicles through the lending program, as well as many other regional farms and organizations that were able to loan and test out these fully electric vehicles and farm equipment.
